  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a loaf pan.
  2. In a large bowl, mix together the pumpkin puree, honey or maple syrup, eggs, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  3. In another bowl, combine the whole wheat flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and ground cinnamon.
  4. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Fold in the chocolate chips if using.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top.
  6. Bake for 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  7. Let cool for 10 minutes, then remove from the pan and allow to cool completely on a wire rack.
