Ingredients

  • 1 packet active dry yeast
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup baking soda
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 teaspoons cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine warm water, yeast, and sugar. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes until frothy.
  3. Add flour and salt to the yeast mixture, and mix until combined. Knead the dough for 5 minutes.
  4. Divide the dough into equal pieces and roll them into pretzel shapes.
  5. Boil water and baking soda in a large pot. Boil each pretzel for 30 seconds.
  6. Place the boiled pretzels on a baking sheet and brush with melted butter.
  7. Mix sugar and cinnamon in a bowl and sprinkle over pretzels.
  8. Bake for 10-12 minutes until golden brown.
