Hearty Hamburger Potato Casserole for Cozy Dinner Nights

A delicious and hearty casserole perfect for chilly evenings.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 4 cups thinly sliced potatoes
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a skillet, cook ground beef and onion until beef is browned; drain excess fat.
  3. In a large bowl, mix together the soup, milk, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  4. Layer half of the potatoes in a greased baking dish, follow with half of the beef mixture, then half of the cheese. Repeat layers.
  5. Pour the soup mixture over the top and cover the dish with foil.
  6. Bake for 1 hour, then remove foil and bake for an additional 30 minutes until golden and bubbly.
  7. Let it rest for 10 minutes before serving.
