Miso Carbonara

A creative and delicious twist on the classic spaghetti carbonara featuring miso and turkey bacon.

  • 8 ounces spaghetti
  • 4 slices turkey bacon
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tablespoons white miso paste
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons chopped parsley

Instructions

  1. Cook spaghetti according to package instructions until al dente.
  2. In a skillet, cook turkey bacon until crispy. Remove and chop into pieces.
  3. In a bowl, whisk together eggs, Parmesan cheese, and miso paste.
  4. In the same skillet, add olive oil and garlic; sauté until fragrant.
  5. Drain spaghetti and add to the skillet, tossing to combine with garlic and oil.
  6. Remove from heat and quickly stir in egg mixture, allowing residual heat to cook the eggs.
  7. Add turkey bacon, salt, and pepper; mix well.
  8. Garnish with parsley before serving.

Notes

  • For a vegetarian version, omit turkey bacon and replace with mushrooms.
  • Use gluten-free pasta for a gluten-free option.
