One-Pot Creamy Spicy Cajun Sausage Pasta

A rich and creamy dish that combines flavorful sausage with a spicy kick and pasta, all cooked in one pot for easy cleanup.

  • 12 ounces penne pasta
  • 1 pound Cajun sausage
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can (14.5 ounces) diced tomatoes
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 tablespoon Cajun seasoning
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 1 cup shredded cheese
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the sausage and cook until browned.
  2. Add the onion and garlic, and sauté until softened.
  3. Stir in the diced tomatoes, heavy cream, Cajun seasoning, and chicken broth.
  4. Add the penne pasta and bring to a boil.
  5. Reduce heat and let simmer until pasta is cooked.
  6. Stir in the cheese until melted, then garnish with parsley before serving.

Notes

  • Adjust the spice level by adding more or less Cajun seasoning.
  • For a lighter version, substitute heavy cream with half-and-half.
