  • 1 tablespoon butter

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Thinly slice the sweet potatoes.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine heavy cream, garlic, salt, pepper, and nutmeg.
  4. Layer half of the sweet potatoes in a greased baking dish.
  5. Pour half of the cream mixture over the sweet potatoes.
  6. Sprinkle half of the shredded cheese over the layer.
  7. Repeat the layering process with the remaining sweet potatoes, cream mixture, and cheese.
  8. Dot the top with butter.
  9. Cover with foil and bake for 45 minutes.
  10. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes until bubbly and golden.
