  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 cup boiling water
  • 2 cups fresh strawberries, sliced

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease two 9-inch round cake pans.
  2. In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, cocoa, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. Add eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla. Beat on medium speed for 2 minutes.
  4. Stir in boiling water (batter will be thin). Pour evenly into prepared pans.
  5. Bake for 30-35 minutes. Cool for 10 minutes, then remove from pans to cool completely.
  6. Once cooled, layer the cakes, adding sliced strawberries between the layers and on top.

Notes

  • For a richer chocolate flavor, use dark cocoa powder.
  • Make sure the strawberries are fresh for the best taste.
