Traditional Country French Style Garlic Soup

A comforting and flavorful garlic soup that brings a taste of traditional French cuisine to your table, elevated with the delightful addition of turkey bacon.

  • 1 head garlic
  • 4 cups chicken broth
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 4 slices turkey bacon
  • 1 cup diced onions
  • 1 teaspoon fresh thyme
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Cut the top off the head of garlic, drizzle with olive oil, wrap in foil, and roast for 30 minutes.
  3. In a pot, cook the turkey bacon over medium heat until crispy, then remove and crumble.
  4. Add diced onions to the pot and sauté until translucent.
  5. Once the garlic is roasted, squeeze the cloves into the pot and add chicken broth and thyme. Bring to a boil.
  6. Reduce heat and let it simmer for 15 minutes.
  7. Blend the soup until smooth and return to the pot.
  8. Stir in the heavy cream, salt, and pepper. Heat through.
  9. Serve hot, garnished with crumbled turkey bacon and parsley.

Notes

  • This soup can be blended to your desired consistency.
  • For a spicier kick, add a pinch of red pepper flakes.
