Bourbon Strawberry Angel Food Cupcakes

A delightful treat combining the flavors of bourbon and strawberries in a light and airy cupcake.

  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 11 egg whites
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon bourbon
  • 1 1/2 cups sliced strawberries

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, beat the egg whites until soft peaks form.
  4. Gently fold the dry ingredients into the egg whites.
  5. Add vanilla extract and bourbon, and fold until just combined.
  6. Pour the batter into a cupcake pan lined with paper liners.
  7. Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
  8. Allow to cool before serving topped with sliced strawberries.

Notes

  • Make sure to use room temperature egg whites for better volume.
  • Substituting fresh strawberries with frozen is possible, but ensure they are thawed and drained.
