French Onion Chicken Orzo Casserole

A delicious and hearty casserole featuring the rich flavors of French onion soup combined with tender chicken and orzo, topped with crispy turkey bacon.

  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 1 pound chicken breast, cooked and shredded
  • 1 large onion, thinly sliced
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup cooked turkey bacon, chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat and sauté onions until they are soft and caramelized.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, combine cooked orzo, chicken broth, shredded chicken, sautéed onions, garlic powder, mozzarella cheese, chopped turkey bacon, salt, and pepper.
  4. Transfer the mixture to a greased baking dish and spread evenly.
  5. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes until bubbly and golden brown.
  6. Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
